Applying for an Internship

Students wishing to apply for an internship in Biomedical Engineering through the BEIIP, must submit a written application and resume to the Internship Program Director and attend an interview and review of these materials with the Director for discussion of skills and preferred internship experience. Candidates are matched with an industrial partner based upon a number of criteria including previous research experience, specific technical skills, courses completed, and success of an on-sight interview with the company. The applicants are required to keep the internship office informed of any progress or changes. The program matches undergraduate and graduate students with companies in the local area, as well as nationwide.

• Completion of the application is the first step in our communication process, supplemented by receipt of your resume and in person discussion with you about your specific interests. Please take time to complete this form as it is the vehicle used to showcase your talents and abilities to potential internship sponsors.
• Following completion of the application, please:
  • Save the completed application as “Lastname-Firstname-app-2010.doc,” where Firstname is your first name and Lastname is your last name.
  • Name an electronic copy of your resume as “Lastname-Firstname-resume-2010.doc”
  • Send both documents electronically to Robin Yarborough, Program Director, at ryarboro@rci.rutgers.edu with a list of times you are available to meet within 2 weeks following your submission.
  • You will be contacted with a mutually convenient time to review your information so that it can be posted for sponsor review.

The deadline for the 2010 application is January 22nd, 2010
