BME Faculty startup featured in press

IbRiS, a startup company, founded jointly by Rutgers BME faculty, Professor Anant Madabhushi and Dr. James Monaco, was featured in a story on U.S. 1 newspaper (article). The aim of this company is to develop a computerized image analysis program that will help identify those women with ER+ breast cancer who do not require adjuvant chemotherapy, over and above standard hormonal therapy. Unlike more expensive prognostic molecular assays on the market, IbRiS only requires digital scanned images of breast cancer biopsy specimens and hence allows for cheap and portable testing and consequently could have a global outreach.
