BME Graduate Faculty Awarded NIH Grant on Nanolipoblockers

BME professor Prabhas Moghe(PI) and BME Graduate Faculty member Kathryn Uhrich(co-PI) were awarded an NIH grant on nanolipoblockers by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) for 4 years at $2.3M. The proposal is to design synthetic counter-ligands for repressing "athero/inflammatory" processes related to atherosclerosis. Bill Welsh is also a collaborator. The proposed studies will directly impact graduate students: Daniel Lewis (CBE), Kubra Kamisoglu (CBE), Li Gu (CCB) and postdocs: Dr. Adam York (BME), Dr. Dawanne Poree (CCB), and Dr. Dmitriy Chekmarev (Bioinformatics, UMDNJ).
