BME Graduate Student Wins Outstanding Research Poster Award

BME Master of engineering student Robert Battikha, received the Outstanding Research Poster award at the 43rd Annual Northeast Bioengineering Conference. Robert’s work entitled ‘Automatic Segmentation of Ventricles from 2D Neonatal Ultrasound Data’ is part of a bigger research project where BME faculty Dr. Ilker Hacihaliloglu is closely collaborating with faculty members (Dr. Rachana Tyagi) from Division of Neurosurgery (Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School) for developing advanced image reconstruction and processing methods for improving the diagnostic potential of medical ultrasound for neonatal brain imaging.
