Graduate Student Receives an ASGCT Outstanding Poster Award

BME PhD student Alex Burr has received an Outstanding Poster Presentation Award at the 23rd Annual Meeting of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ASGCT) where over 1300 posters were presented virtually on May 12-15th.  Reviewers are asked to select a winner in each category based on quality of research, poster outline, and clarity of the presentation.  Her poster titled “Circadian-Triggered Gene Therapy for Hypoparathyroidism: A Step Toward Physiological Gene Switches" displayed data from a disease model mouse study showing how to achieve therapeutic levels of parathyroid hormone from gene therapy administration, as well as proof of concept data demonstrating protein secretion on a circadian rhythm.  Alex is advised by Professor Biju Parekkadan in BME.
