Madabhushi and co-inventors awarded US patent on "Systems and methods for classification of biological datasets"

Rutgers and The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia have been assigned a patent (8,204,315) developed by five co-inventors for "systems and methods for classification of biological datasets." The co-inventors are Professor Anant Madabhushi, Michael D. Feldman, John E. Tomaszewski, Mark Rosen, and Jianbo Shi. The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "This invention relates to supervised or unsupervised classification of biological datasets. Specifically, the invention relates to the use of Graph Embedding as a method of reducing dimensionality thereby improving supervised classification of classes, both conventional and new ones."
