The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) of the NIH has awarded Rutgers a $1.47M grant on Translational Research in Regenerative Medicine. This five year award (July 2012-June 2017) will support NIH Fellowships for postdoctoral scientists in the fields of biomaterials science and stem cell/tissue regenerative technologies. The program will be co-directed by Rutgers SOE faculty Prabhas Moghe(Rutgers-Biomedical Engineering; Chemical & Biochemical Engineering) along withProfessors Joachim Kohn (Rutgers-NJ Center for Biomaterials) and Anthony Windebank (Mayo Clinic). A unique component of this program is its concept of "Training Without Borders" of postdoctoral scientists centered around leading institutions at four major nodes nationally: Rutgers-Penn-Princeton Universities; Case Western Reserve University/The Cleveland Clinic; the Harvard Hospitals; and The Mayo Clinic, Minnesota.
