The REU Site in Cellular Bioengineering was renewed for another 3 years with a grant of $412,491 from the National Science Foundation. The REU aims to provide an immersive research experience coupled with professional development activities for students who traditionally lack these opportunities, including under-represented minorities, students who are in the first generation in their family to attend college, and students from colleges that primarily serve undergraduates and do not engage in research. Since 2010, the REU has hosted 68 summer scholars. The REU is directed by Professor David Shreiber and co-directed by Professor Charles Roth.
