Salkind Receives Edison Patent Award

Professor Emeritus Alvind Salkind and 2 former Rutgers graduate students, will be awarded the 2007 Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award at the November meeting of the New Jersey R & D Council. The award is based on a 2006 US Patent 7, 011, 908 awarded toTerrill AtwaterAlvin Salkind, and Arek Suszko. The invention is a novel material (a manganese, bismuth mixed metal oxide) for rechargeable lithium electrochemical systems which widely used in medical, military, and high technology applications.
