Chancellor Edwards' office has awarded a grant of $588,812 to Evelyn Erenrich, Director of the Center for Graduate Recruitment, Retention and Diversity (GR2aD) and Assistant Dean, and David Shreiber, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, to expand the Summer Undergraduate Pathway to Excellence at Rutgers Graduate Fellowship Program (SUPER-Grad). The SUPER-Grad program provides support to recruit the best and brightest students from our summer undergraduate research programs to return to Rutgers for their doctoral studies. In alignment with the New Brunswick Strategic Plan, students in these programs come primarily from traditionally under-served populations and first-generation college families, and thereby enhance the inclusive, diverse, and cohesive culture at Rutgers. The funds, which are significantly supplemented by generous matches from GSNB, GSBS, SoE, SAS, and SEBS, will provide two years of support for entering fellows as well as support for summer students.
