Yarmush and Colleagues Receive NIH Grant to Develop New Liver Preservation Technique

Professor Martin Yarmush and colleagues from Massachusetts General Hospital have been awarded a 4-year, $1,539,000 research grant from the NIH for a project entitled, "High subzero preservation of liver for transplantation”. The project proposes a method for preserving mammalian organs which employs hibernating and freeze-tolerant strategies from nature, that are further augmented using bioengineering principles.
